My name is frequently mangled, so I set down some rules to make
everything easy.
- Each letter in
brian d foy must be
of the same case. Lower case is preferred. Any
capitalization is incorrect unless each letter is
capitalized.
- d does not stand for anything. It is not an
initial. Do not use any punctuation.
- Sentences should not start with
brian d
foy if you normally capitalize the first word of
a sentence. Recast the sentence so that it begins with a
capital letter. There has been some confusion about
this, apparently. I merely make a suggestion based on most
reasonable style guides that prefer not to break the sentence-style
capitalization in these cases. Recasting the sentence avoids
the problem.
- There are two atoms in
brian d foy:
brian, which may be used alone, and d foy,
which must be used in conjunction with brian. Any
form of brian foy is incorrect.
